The 'championship' belt that Marciano 'won' in the 1967 computer tournament? I seen a picture of Marciano, Woroner and Dempsey holding the belt a few times.
Is the belt still in possession with the Marciano family? Or was it returned to Murry Woroner? The belt I understand cost $10,000 then to make as it was encrusted with many jewels.

With The Rock's reputation for being ultra careful with his money I suspect that he took the secret of where it was to the grave.IrishRufusMurphy wrote:The 'championship' belt that Marciano 'won' in the 1967 computer tournament? I recall David Woroner [son of Murry] saying something about Marciano giving back the championship ring to his father, and when his father died his mother gave him the ring....
But what I don't get is, Marciano was given a BELT, not a ring. What's the story behind all that?
As far as Marciano's money lol...Marciano was as shrewd as a Jew when it came to the almighty dollar. I watched a program once that people who were close to Marciano still find dollars hidden away inside of pipes, behind walls etc.
Of course, I guess if anyone had a money grubber manager like Al Weil, I'd be very protective of my earnings as well...I seem to also recall that Marciano would refuse checks, because he didn't trust banks, that he would only take cash.
One instance some man asked him to come to a dinner banquet, and offered Rocky $10,000 in a check. Marciano refused, but he told him, that if he gave him $5,000 upfront that he'd come up and that the guy could give him the other $5,000 afterwards.
