Who would be the best Virgin Islander? Or would that be a whole thread on its own?
Ghana - Azumah Nelson
Nigeria - Dick Tiger
South Africa - Brian Mitchell
Wales - Howard Winstone
Scotland - Ken Buchanan
Barbados - Joe Walcott
Anyone brave enough to suggest Mexico?

I think the best Mexican was Salvador Sanchez. Yep, above Chavez, Olivares and co.

Chavez is by far the greatest Mexican fighter ever. It shouldnt even be close. Sanchez accomplished maybe a third of what JC did in his career.

If your listing him as Italian then Johnny Dundee should also be considered.

That's true, I mean it's hardly Sanchez' fault he didn't achieve more than he did.

I'm serious. Panama Al Brown is an all time great with an outstanding resume, high winning pct, an excellent record in world title fights, and he was never stopped or quit in at least 170 bouts.

Yep, we're all aware of that, but you can't rate him above Roberto Duran.

Canada- Sam Langford! (PS I just found out he was from Canada)

I gotta question that requires some research: Who is the best boxer from a country that doesn't exist anymore?

This could be a nice distraction if we just keep on quoting this list and editing/arguing the picks - Nice one Barry :TU: I have taken the liberty of deleting Uk and inserting Eng, Scot and NIR.
I have also put in all picks suggested so far in the thread.

I'd say the best fighter from Scotland is Benny Lynch, not Ken Buchanan although he is a great also.
Best fighter from Northern Ireland could be Jimmy McLarnin (born in Belfast), if he doesnt count then Barry McGuigan.
Best fighter from Syria (just came to me)............Mustafa Hamsho
