DANNY GREEN vs BRANCO, WBA light heavy title

Post by Autobarn »

I hear that this fight is on. Seems that Green's people grabbed the opportunity after Roy Jones-Siaca eliminator was called off.

Green looked refreshed in his last fight, up at 175-pounds.

Hope he wins, as it could set up a great fight with Briggs.

That would be a war.

But he must get by Branco, who at times can be as tricky as Mundine.

How much does Branco really have left at 40? Green can be outboxed we have seen that and Branco is a big bastard. Interesting fight.

I don't know where it's going to be. But if it's in Oz I give Green a great chance.

Siaca is a bit hot and cold, some good wins & some bad losses on his record.

Green will probably feel stronger making Light Heavy.

The winner will be great for Woods.

Green has had some major health problems over the last 2 or 3 years. Apparently he's all sorted out now. He should be a strong 175-pounder. Looked fast in his last fight, even though it was only Delisle. Delisle reckons Green-Woods would be a great fight, but thinks Green will be surprised by Woods' strength.

This is it for Green, If he cant beat Branko at 40 then he must retire. He looked good against Delisle but let him off the hook in the early rounds and didn't try for the KO when he had the chance. But he looked much better at 175 than at 168 and seemed to get a bit of speed back in his punches.

Great fight.

On a side note, I hope Drews goes after the winner (Drews is the WBA's #1 now) so that he frees up the WBC rankings for Dawson-Diaconu. :box:

Pretty interesting fight, i think even at 40 branco's got a good chance if he can get that jab going.
