That's a disaster.

Official Statement: Matt Skelton regrettably has had to pull out of his scheduled contest with Audley Harrison on 9th Dec. Due to a hand injury sustained in sparring and which subsequently was made worse by continuation of training and after receiving X-Ray results Matt, under medical advise, has been advised not to proceed with the bout as undoubtedly this would effect his performance and cause further damage to his hand. Matt is obviously devastated about having to pull out and would like to apologise to his fight fans, his promoter and Audley Harrison for this decision. The injured hand will now be dealt with and a full recovery is scheduled for the early part of the New Year.

I knew it was wrong to start saying how the good the next couple of weeks looked. I shouldn't have opened my big fat gob. Hopefully this is the only one that falls through.

Yet again reason not to buy SN tickets for their fights until a day or two before the show.

The bill can morph from fantastic at initial announcement stage to woeful in a matter of weeks.

I know pull outs are part of the game but SN seem to have had a really tough time with them the last few years.

Looking back its a miracle that Hatton-Tyszu was delivered on the date it was promised but then again, it was backed by a dreadful undercard.

From secondsout

However, he has been "training like a dog" waiting for a chance to return, and his weight is currently under 19stone.

Harrison, however, is rumoured not to be that enthused with facing Williams instead of Skelton. His one-fight deal with Warren called for a fight with Skelton, not Williams, and the decision of whether to go ahead ultimate rests with the 'A Force'.

If Harrisons heart is really in it you'd think he'd jump at the chance to fight Williams and put things right after their first 'fight'.... Williams looks like an easier fight for Harrison, especially as its questionable how much Dannys heart is in it now... I like Danny but think he's at the end of the road now...

Paul Boyce told Ben at UKboxingpress that the Willaims Gammer fight had just been signed and sealed for Feb 16th. Cant see Willams being able to break that agreement, or be in good shape for a bout in a week, when he's signed to fight in 2 months??

Actually, at this point I'd say it's more likely that Maccarinelli will step in and take an easy defense.

You would think Audley would jump at the chance of redemption against Williams.

I can honestly see Harrison being withdrawn from the card, with his over-sized ego he is not likely to accept a pay cut against a journeyman if a fight with Danny does not pan out.

Jesus, ITV must be seething with another main event cancelled. God knows how many that is now. And lets be honest Harrison could flip out at any given moment.

I wonder how long boxing on ITV will last? Not long if this keeps happening.

I know its not the promoters fault but SN seem to have far more main event/high profile pullouts than any other promoter.

I'm sure I read that Skelton (on this forum) was withdrawing weeks ago...

Did I or am I going mad?

When I read the title 'Skelton is out', I thought it meant out the closet...

But this is a real shame.
