GREAT list! However No7 featherweight Argenis Mendez turned pro just a coiuple of days ago, winning KO 2. http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=378733
I'm interested in your 91kg rankings. Has Kalchugin boxed in any senior tourneys? I know that he won the World Junior Championships in September 2006, but how has he fared against men over 18 years old?
How do you have Poyatsika #1 when he lost to Dzanghiev of Russia on October 18, 2006? Chakhiyev of Russia won the World Cup in October so why isn't he #1? Have Chakhiyev and Dzanghiev boxed each other recently? Poyatsika is good as I saw him in Harvey, Illinois earlier this month, but I would just like to know why you think he is the best there is in the 91kg division. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

Kalchugin could be the best russian but he is unproven and being carefully nurtured and I have made some comments in the junior section. However as regards the seniors,Romanchuk is accepted as the best russian and he lost to Poyatsika in the European championship final. This may have been a fluke as the Ukrainians international record is not that good, for example he was stopped by the Asian champion Mazaheri. My view is when Romanchuk or another russian conclusively beats Poyatsika he will have to drop to five/six or even lower.
Thanks for the analysis. Romanchuk did not impress me in his bout against Poyatsika, but maybe he had an off night.mike222 wrote:Chakiyev and Dzanghiev were well beaten in the Russian championships semi finals by Romanchuk and Romanov who naturally contested the finals.I have used that as an assessment of the Russians
My updated mens and womens world rankings are on the rankings section of the forum of http://www.ababoxing.com.
