I was cleaning up Peter Maher's record yesterday, when I came to the Fitzsimmons bout the location was listed as Mexico-near Langtry, Tx. Wondering what the hell was up with that, I did a search and found this.

Well "Mexico near Langtry, Texas" I believe is how I described it on the CBZ, which makes things more accurate than "Langtry Texas" as most reords have it.
In fact, as noted in the article, the fight took place on a small island or sand bar in the middle of the Rio Grande river, and the local authorities were unsure as to whether it was USA or Mexico -- authorities on both sides of the river were ready to stop the fight!
