Post by Max Molyneux »

Just checked the schedule and says Derry Matthews is fighting in Liverpool on the 24th February.

Where confirmed it?

The Olympia website has not been updated with this event.

Although tickets went on sale on December 23.
Olympia box office phone number: 0151 263 6633.

John Simpson could possibly be Derry's opponent and Paul Smith is on the card.

This is one I'll definately be going to. :box:

If Derry fights Simpson then I wouldn't mind going, but the boxrec Schedule says WBU.

Not seen much of Smith though.

Joe McNally is turning pro? I thought he would be staying amateur for a while. Good luck to him. :TU:

If he fought Simpson for the Brit Belt at the Olympia, I would go to watch.

Wonder what the future holds for Foster Jr after that beating?

Why Isn't Derry fighting for Simpson's British title Instead of defending his WBU against Simpson?

An easy win for Derry though. :TU: :box:

Phoned the Olympia today. Ticket prices are: £33, £44, £66. That will be upper balcony, lower balcony, ringside I presume.

It has been reported 90% of tickets have been sold. The Olympia holds 1,600.

Paul Smith is looking to add the WBU International Belt to the Central Area crown he won in October.

Matthews would outwork Andy Morris. :TU:

Wonder why Matthews Vs Simpson Is not for the British title though? I would of considered trying to get tickets otherwise. It's a Warren show though, so I can watch It on GODITV for free.

I'm assuming there is more money in the WBU title. Crazy as that sounds.

We should have a good old fashioned Boxrec northern monkey meet-up. Have a few pints before or after the fights.

We'll avoid the Grafton though, unless anyone's up for that old Liverpool passtime, 'Grab a Granny' :TU:

Never been the Grafton!? It's an experience, just ask Neri! Me and him got conned into going by one of our other mates, but saying that, pay a tenner on the door, and all your ale is free! Should have seen the barmaids face when I asked for a glass of coke. :D

And don't worry Max, i'm sure there are plenty of Grandmothers under the age of 50 in Liverpool, probably a few Great grannies as well!

The scene has changed alot now. You get loads of dirty young birds going there now but they have kids. Want a shag? No problem just make sure you cough up with the child support every month.

You can get the grafton bouncer who looks like the toxic avenger to keep his eye(s) on it for a small fee.
