Billy Blanks /Golden Gloves Champion????

Billy Blanks the Tae Bo guru has a very impressive Bio ( type in billy blanks on the net and go to his web site.
In his bio it states he was the Mass, Golden Gloves L/hwy champion in 1984 and also the Tri-state campion of champions.
Again in my calls to the New England area and Amateur guru's they never heard of the Mass. Golden Gloves or the Tri-state championships.
Anyone have any knowledge of this guy Blanks winning any GG titles.

There is no such thing as a Mass Golden Gloves Champion. New England has 4 regions. Champions from the 4 regions compete for the New England Golden Gloves Championship. Maybe he ment Miss, not Mass? Then again maybe he wasn't quite telling the truth.

I know Billy was boxing in Massachusetts around that time...but I also know the four light heavies who represented the region in the GG...and he wasnt one of them. Maybe he boxed novice

I posted this thread in 07?? don't know what happen to it perhaps it was lost in space. But I did some research and found out that Billy Blanks bio was a complete fabracation. It seems that there was even a newspaper reporter that uncovered that he fabracated his amature record and its all bullshit. Aparently he's from Erie PA, then moved to Mass, then moved to California. I know he had a few am fights in PA (got ktfo) , before moving to MA. He did however do well in some bullshit no contact type of compition. LOL wtf. It turns out his amature credentials are pure Hollywood fiction. I love the video of him getting ktfo , I was told it was suppose to be one of those point type no contact matchs and his chin got grazed. He went down like a free drink. LOL
