If Hatton beats Urango, and Castillo gets past the unbeaten but unknown Ngoudjo, there is every chance a fight between the two will be announced before Hatton flies back to Manchester.
But "El Temible" may have his hands full with Montreal-based Ngoudjo, who scored a fine 12-round decision over perennial contender Emanuel Augustus in Montreal in October 2005 - the same Augustus who thrashed Jon Thaxton over here and took part in an oft-forgotten classic with "Irish" Micky Ward in 2001. It was fair, too (unlike a lot of Augustus' losses), if hard earned.
The busy Ngoudjo piled up the points in the early and middle rounds, only for Augustus to rally in the last and force a knockdown. But it came too late to amend the unanimous scorecards.
Managed by Yvon Michel and trained by former Billy Schwer victim Howard Grant, Ngoudjo won silver at bantamweight in the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Malaysia (outscored by Tanzania's Michael Yomba in the final) and boxed in the 2000 Olympics, also at bantam. Clearly he's been well fed in Canada, where he switched after winning bronze in a multi-nation event in Quebec in 2001.
He's won all his 15 pro fights since (nine early) and, as well as Augustus, holds an eight-round stoppage of former WBA featherweight champion Eloy Rojas and a comprehensive 12-round decision over stumpy former super-featherweight standout John Brown. Last time out in October, Ngoudjo outscored Denver's useful Donald Camarena over 12 hard rounds.
The 27-year-old African is hardly the second coming of Dick Tiger but gone 12 rounds in his last five fights. He could make it tough for Castillo.
