DannyL"Little Red"Lopez vs. Wilfredo Gomez 126lbs

Would Gomez glide about slipping Lopez bombs, countering with his pinpoint counters to batter and stop Lopez,OR would Lopez land a bomb and stop him?

I think this would be a very close and competive fight with a slight edge to Gomez but I could see it going the other way also.

Lopez and Gomez are both among my all-time favorites and this was a bout that was really being hyped in the late 70s and early 80s and it would have happened had Salvador Sanchez not came onto the scene. If Lopez hit Gomez solid it would probably be over with as Lopez was physically bigger, but Gomez was a lot more solid all-around and technically skilled than Lopez and though he didn't hit quite as hard as Lopez, Gomez was still a crippling puncher that could put almost anyone to sleep with either hand. I would pick Gomez to win by stoppage sometime after the tenth round simply because he was a supremely-skilled technician and really just a complete fighter and being that Lopez took a lot of punches, with a puncher like Gomez, it would be his end; it would be similar to what Sanchez did to Lopez, but it would be a hell of a fight with multiple knockdowns of both men.

I pick Gomez to beat Lopez in an excellent war. Gomez was a complete fighter while Lopez was a slugger and a banger, also a bleeder.

Gomez by TKO in 10 rounds.

Can someone explain me why Gomez only lasted against Sanchez 8 rounds while Lopez lasted 13 and 14 rounds with Salvador?

Ain't Lopez should win if that is the case?
