I know they fought,and the outcome,but by then,Chavez was already passed his best.Had these two met,just after each won the title,and had a defense or two,things would have been different.That same cracking skin-ripping jab that was so effective in the first fight,wouldn't faze Chavez in these days.Chavez would march forward,trading blow for blow,and he would humble the De La Hoya,who was having trouble with the roughhouse tactics of J.J.Molina.Chavez would brutalize him,and if he didn't score a late round stoppage,would definitely win a unanimous decision over a very beat up & abused De LA Hoya,
