Please merge records for Tyrone Dowdy and Tyrone Downey

Post by JakeNDaBox »

http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=265868

and

http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=341481

are the same person. Not sure of the mix-up, or even how he obtained two licenses. FightFax and other commissions confirm that there is no such license for the one listed on Tyrone Downey's name (the Fed ID on his link is actually a NC license, for James Horace, who for all we know is yet another alias!)

Anyway, Dowdy and Downey are the same cat. Please combine their records, using the info in DOWDY's profile.

Thanks

Is the correct last name Dowdy or Downey?

The fights on Downey's record are locked and the commission will probably have to be contacted to make sure the name is Dowdy.

The correct last name is Dowdy.

Weird that all of the other fights could be transferred, save for his only win

Thanks for taking care of this.

The fight that’s not changed is because The Federal ID error came from the Tennessee Commission who sent
BoxRec the original report on the 01-10-06 New Daisy Theater show in Memphis, TN. They later corrected the
mistake on their site and favored FightFax with the addendum correction while ignoring BoxRec.

The Catch-22 is that because of the agreement BoxRec made with the ABC in order to get on the list of receiving
records, we cannot change info on a locked record without receiving an addendum. Yet most commissions do-not
-send-BoxRec-addendums and some-don’t-even-send-“official results”.

Unfortunately, it’s the fighters who are harmed by this.

Thanks for the explanation (though none was necessary). I'll talk to the commission tomorrow (Tuesday) when their offices open and see if they can assist in getting this cleared up and closed out once and for all.
