Clinton Woods, IBF Champion, rated #3 by Boxrec.com, rated #6 by Boxrec Forum Voters. Who would you put in the ring opposite him?

Who would YOU have fight Clinton Woods?

I'd like to see him fight Dawson. 175 has been a merry-go-round these last few years. Woods himself has profited from that. The talk from Fight Academy that Woods is somehow the best light heavyweight in the world because he beat Johnson is quite frankly outrageous. Dawson is the young man in the spotlight, and he's prepared to travel.
Of course, I do think he'd beat Clinton (who I have a great deal of respect for) with something to spare, so I don't expect it anytime soon.
But please, let's stop this seemingly endless cycle of Tarver/Jones/Johnson/Woods at 175.
I'm sure Roy Jones, even as faded as he is is still better money for Clinton than a fight against, say, Erdei. But I know what I want to see.

In my book zsolt erdei is the 175lb champion of the world. He would beat Clinton and anyone else in the division. Dawson would be too fragile and Erdei would bust him up.m1kee50 wrote:Clinton Woods, IBF Champion, rated #3 by Boxrec.com, rated #6 by Boxrec Forum Voters. Who would you put in the ring opposite him?

If they are not fighting erdei , I wouldnt mind seeing Woods give Dean Francis a shot. He could be the surprise package, after all.

I agree, this is the fight that I'd like to see, but it's not going to be made.pundit wrote:Calzaghe is the fight he should go for.
But Calzaghe doesn't seem to like the idea.
Seeing as Clazaghe isn't an option, I'd like to see him try his hand with Dawson because like states, I'm pretty sick of the 'bloody loop' at light heavy. It's about time that the older fighters actually tested themselves against the younger men.
Clinton has been an honest pro and deserves a cash in fight. The fight for him was Calzaghe. Clinton is bigger and stronger and would've made for a terrific home interest fight. British promoters can't even work together - it's a joke.
Woods could give Dawson a fight, but Dawson's too young, fast, talented and well schooled.
Fvck Tarver. Tarver was a poor champion and his slap happy, gass quickly, AMATEUR style is going to look awful in comparison to Dawson. If Dawson keeps up the good work.
Wouldn't mind Woods-Erdei - Erdei looked weak last time out & Clinton could be the physically strongest of the 175 pounders.
Otherwise, I want to see him in with the Aussies Green and Briggs.
