Just noticed that Witter has been added to Golden Boy's fighter list on their website. I thought they only had a 3-fight deal and thought that nothing had really come of it. Also, wasn't Froch signed up along with Witter? But he doesn't appear on the site.
On a side note, Golden Boy must have the best roster of fighters ever assembled by a promotor. Oscar, Hopkins, Winky, Barrera, Mosley, JMM and Corrales to name a few.
Junior Witter and Golden Boy
Corrales 1/2 dead and will be even worst after Clottey, the other fighters as promoters very much in the boring end of storied careers. Marquez by far the best acquisition. GBP have f ucked up the best divisions super feather & welter just as much as anyone and none of their fighters can fight Arum fighters.
Signing ppl left right and centre and then come the lawsuits when they find that they still owe ppl fights!
GBP's problem is they want everything. But once DLH and his "boring boys" have stopped fighting and no longer commanding HBO events, what then? Will they still have the same clout? Will they have too many fighters and not enough TV dates - DLH has dangled the Mayweather carrot for a long time, which has got him favoritism with HBO for the moment...but not necessarily in the future.

They're making super fihgts this year too - Mayweather-DLH, Marquez-Barrera, Winky-BHOPs (most boring super fight ever perhaps but all the same). Also Mosley Mosley-Corrales looks round the corner, Guzman against the Barrera-Marquez winner looks likely too.
Yes Pacman signing for Arrum screwed everything up at 130 but if he'd gone to golden boy they'd have the top4 in the star studied division. At the end of the day though we wouldn't have had Barrera-Marquez if Pacman signed with
Pacman himselfs going to suffer soon if he doesnt take on fighters from the GBP stable and may have to goto 135 as a result, which still won't give him another real super-fight.
At 147 and 130 I think the winners should eventually square off. IE Mosley-Corrales-Mayweather winner versus Cotto-Judah-Williams-Mararito winner.
Times are exciting at 130 and 147 and great fights are ahead

When GBP get hold of Corrales there will be nothing left. Clottey could do him like Darchinyan did Burgos. This could be a sick beating.Phenomenal-Nutrition wrote:They're making super fihgts this year too - Mayweather-DLH, Marquez-Barrera, Winky-BHOPs (most boring super fight ever perhaps but all the same). Superfights - GBP-PBF looks like it'll no way deliver the hype, Hopkins-Winky should be dull, Mosley-Baldo utter shite.
Will GBP soon be unable to do business with Shaw I wonder? Shaw was trying to sue them over the Corrales issue. Shaw is suing Arum, which should cut off more top matchups. Arum and GBP also in a feud. They are ALL f ucking things up.
I agree about Pac- he's pissing about. He's been overrated a bit for beating a faded Morales and may be shocked when he encounters an elite fighter in his prime.

Pac is a physical beast, with phenomenal speed and power but can be outboxed and has a very open defense - he hasnt a faced a BIG accurate puncher and when he does I think he'll be wobbling all round the ring. Then again big accurate punchers arent that common - Morales and Barrera weren't particularly big hitters even back at 122.viciousmaussa wrote:When GBP get hold of Corrales there will be nothing left. I expect Arrum is going to protect Pac now hes got the following he has. I really wonder where his next big fight is coming from, his next fight is a joke. This is fair enough considering the hard fights hes had recently but I have a feeling Arrum wants to milk his cash cow for all its worth.
you have a good point about Corrales-Clottey. Clottey maybe all wrong for him but I think Corrales will be a far better fighter at 147. He'll still be 155 come fight night and for once he won't be weakened from weight making. We'll have to see how good his skills are P4P when he gets to 147.
As for the super-fights - many super fights are often not that exciting. I have a feeling PBF-DLH will be a great fight. If Hopkins needs to turn up the heat against Winky it could be exciting. Baldomirs a good opponent for Mosley to continue to get his confidense back with at the top10 level.
Yes promoters getting in the way of fights is shit but 2007 promises to give us the best match ups in years (I made a thread about this a while back)
