M'Baye V Kotelnik

Post by steve689 »

I had M'Baye a 115-114 winner after totalling up my scores but generally thought Kotelnik had won...work that one out :P Kotelnik always impresses me...slow starter but he was landing quality all night.

ITV commentators just failed to see he was blocking a lot of M'Baye's shots. Good fight though, high quality.

I was baffled until I seen you come from Ireland and it all made sense.

Im English mate so there is no hope for me, maybe those stupid commentators swayed me or something. I thought Kotelnik won and landed better shots on reflection but my scores had M'Baye winning :TU:

I had Kotelnik a pretty clear winner. This one made me vomit. M'baye was so underserving. This was style over substance.

IMO the ppl who got upset over Winky only getting a draw with Taylor will be upset about this one. Kotelnik very good defensively and made the fight.

I think it was a case of what you go for and think a draw was a fair result. Allot of the rounds were hard to judge with Mbaiye taking the early going and Kotelnik finnishing stronger. Mbaiye won many of the early rounds which mad the difference.

I prefered Kotelniks aggression but he must have given away 4 of the first 7. And Mbaiye for me got rounds 9-10. Kotelnik got the rest. A draws a fair result all in all but I would have liked to see Kotelnik get the win.

Witters results against Ndou and Kotelnik are looking better after recent results. Does Kotelniks style remind anyone else of Barrera but a bit slower and less sharp??

Maussa did you write this before or after the fight  And if you had Kotelnik a close winner (ie 7-5) how could it make you vommit? Many rounds could go either way surely. I preffered Kotelniks work but it was nip and tuck all the way

I just didn`t see M`Baye deserving it...he fought on the back foot for 90% of the fight...where was a champions pride

The crowd showed who they thought deserved it.

And what about when the interviewed Khan :D ...he sounds more and more like Roland Rat the more I hear him...and he babbles more than Duke McKenzie

Kotelnik would probably beat Witter in a rematch, as long as he starts a bit quicker.

Talk about "in Germany you can't win a decision".

This was boxing corruption at its purest.

I agreed with the draw but 7 rounds to 5 either way or M'Baye could of been right too.

Kotelnik's problem Is he waits till the last minute of the rounds to look good and covers up too much.

I agree. It was a shit decision and M'Baye was given a lesson. All he did was pot shot from out of range.

I actually think a lot of ppl don't know how to score an Eastern European fighter.

All this bollocks about Kotelnik "giving away the 1st 4 rounds" - I think he's still undefeated. Clearly controlled the pace of the fight.

This was all about bloody Amir Khan. Keeping the title for the wunderkind. The Earl fight failed to get a title for him to aim for, now this.

ITV were saying M'baye Is trained by Oliver Harrison now so how would they match M'Baye wth Khan even when he's ready. :-?

Disgusting decision. How about 116-112 to Kotelnik. Nice to see Universum are protesting. Everyone knows who deserved to win it.

Khan has got constant exposure to M'bayee. So that he will know his style. The French man will be an old man when Khan's ready.

Khan and M'baye train In the same gym though, so I'd like to see how this will happen? Khan wants to stay at Lightweight too.

Not sure whats wrong with the people here. This was clearly a hard fight to score and 1 with little in most rounds. Mbaiye landed more in around 5-7 rounds. Just because Kotelnik walked forward doesn't mean he wins the rounds if hes eating leather and not landing enough. Depending on your preference you could probably score it 118-110 either way or 114-114. Simple as that. I CHALLENGE THOSE TALKING ABOUT ROBBERY TO PUT THEIR CARDS UP HERE!!!

Many of the shots were 1/2 blocked. These 2 guys have got different skin. You bunch of effin Khan bashers! You must really want him to have that title. Thanks for the cover up, lads.

The whole setup stinks. There were three British judges & the home boy gets a draw.

Kotelnik owned that fight. So what if his punches were light? He made his shots count, and had most of M'Baye's covered. M'Baye was just a flashy boy without purpose.

I don't mind who has the belt, I'm an M'Baye fan too. Khan won't be ready yet though. :TU:

Very poor decision. I agreed with Mickey Vann's 117-112 score.

Kotelnik was charging forward, blocking M'Baye's shots and scoring well with his, and with the knuckle part of the glove. M'baye was throwing more punches, sure, but he hardly landed clean as Kotelnik covered very well.

I feel for Kotelnik. He has been jobbed twice against M'Baye and was very, very unlucky against Witter. Terry O'Connor and Paul Thomas' scoring was way, way out of line. I think i gave M'Baye a couple of the middle rounds and the ninth - i think - a draw.

Made me chuckle when John Rawling said: "Kotelink has beaten Mario Kindelan." To which Duke replied "That's fantastic." John again: "Well, he lost three times." "That's not so good," replied Duke.

But didnt Amir Khan lose to him twice? Double standards, as per.

Tom Podmore.

I had Mbaiye winning 1,2, 4, 9,10 and a 1 or 2 middle rounds. I had Kotelnik winning the rest. Kotelnik just didnt do enough to take the belt away. No way was this a robbery!!!!

I don't see how that one was a robbery. So many of the rounds were close affairs one way or the other, and I don't think that either man won it clearly enough for it to be bracketed in the blatant home decision category. A point or two either way was about fair depending on what you like. I had it to Kotelnik by a single point, but as I said; robbery it was not.

A very bad decision. Here is my card: 116-112. M'Baye was aimless and confused. I like him, he's a good fighter, but come on, he was so undeserving. He gets a draw on an SN show where the promoter is already making big investments into Khan's world title future. Put it this way, the WBO interim - leading to the full version - 135 title slipped by the other week, didn't it? When Earl was beaten.

Warren will do anything he can for Khan, including DEBASING the great Mario Kindelan. The guy will stop at nothing.
