I have Lost all respect for Holyfield

Post by KO Artist »

If this report of his cowardly bullshitting is true.

http://nascar-gambling.aolsportsblog.co ... -steroids/

He is caught with a smoking gun. He makes a lame excuse that it was to treat a hormonal problem, as he has to admit taking it, then tries to whitewash it by bringing Tyson up.

Evander, you should be ashamed of yourself. In all likelihood you were a cheat.

It is very unlikely that Tyson took a growth hormone. He was a natrual Heavyweight at 13 and used weights only late in his career, and certainly not in the 1980's.

For me, Holyfield is worse than a grass because he is trying to bring Tyson into a situation he has nothing to do with. Tyson has enough problems without Holyfields bullshit.

Tyson should sue him.

You can change your body from a solid 190lber to a solid 210lber in your 20s with some clever work. The article doesn't give the background of these comments but it does sound like hes trying to cover his dirt

I do not believe Holyfield took steroids, an athelte can change his body by heavy training and weights.

Remember - he weighed 14st 9lbs against Bowe the first time.

I used a suplement called GREAT STUFF and it is all legal amino acids etc and the effect after 6 months of good training was amazing.

Holyfield did not take steroids, imo - but none of us wikll ever know.

Bit low to bring Tyson into it.

When I first saw this picture a couple of years ago I thought it looked alittle suspicious. He just looks too ripped for a guy in his mid 30's IMO.

perhaps the results were due to the 'good training' and not the enhancer !!

I've suspected Holyfield used some sort of enhancer but theres too much speculation and I don't hold it against him.

Holy is fighting Maddalone this Saturday btw, which may lead to a rubber match with Moorer. :o

Tyson was 190lbs at 12 years old or some shit and not fat either.. there's no way he was on roids-Rooney and Jacobs were very anti-drugs due to Cus being..

Gaining 25 pounds of solid muscle while losing body fat on a boxer;s training program is almost impossible to while clean.

Look at Holyfield's physique in the second Tyson fight.

That said, Carl Thompson looked ripped and in great shape in his last fight against Frederic Serrat in 2005 aged 40... You can be in great, ripped shape in your 30's, Steroids need not be used...

This does not mean Holyfield - he may have - did not take steroids. Judging by his physique alone should not be the benchmark.

I fele pissed off because as a kid I used to always wanted him to win.

But there's too much suspicious, like his alias "Evan Fields" being found on a mailing list for HGH. His testacle problems, his balding, his comebacks from being shot, etc. If there ever was a fighter motivated to go on steroids it's Evander because he was going in with giants.

If he did take steroids it took him to great wealth, whatever it does for his legacy.

Slow down mate. Are you aware that Tyson PAID Razor Ruddock 25,000 in 1991 rather than have to take a steroid test?

Whats your take on that bud?

that's not to say everyone bald is on steroids. But didn't his hair start receeding when he had the heavyweight championship? Did he have hair ever again after the 2nd Moorer fight, where his heart complaint - it is said - could've been an after effect of juicing (miraculously healed by prayer). Maybe something he was taking made it fall out, who knows. Steroids can cause hair loss.

Then again, why would Evander Holyfield take steroids. Why would Mosley, for that matter. Why eevn would Roy Jones.

These men are so great they don't NEED steroids, LOL

I was reading this interview with Dwight Qawi ( AKA Braxton ) yesterday -

from Doghouse -
http://www.doghouseboxing.com/Scott/Scott_031307.htm

DQ: Who won between Spinks and Tyson? They say that styles make fights, but Spinks couldn’t deal with Holyfield. He would have been blown out before four rounds, for real; unless he wanted to have mercy on him or that kind of thing.

With Spinks, he got lucky a lot of times. With Holmes he got fortunate. With me he got fortunate because my nose was broke and I couldn’t fight my fight. I shouldn’t have taken the fight. I should have gotten my nose corrected and healed, but that something that happened. It was fortunate for him; I mean he ran and jabbed and that kind of thing, but he wouldn’t have been able to run from Holyfield or even hurt Holyfield enough to keep him off of him. Holyfield would have gotten to him, especially using the juice.

RS: Can I quote you on that?

DQ: You mean about Holyfield and the juice?

RS: Yes.

DQ: Yes, and it’s not just Holyfield and boxing, but sports period. The steroids things seem to be becoming acceptable. The public is different, and the fans are different. I look at the UFC, and I’m not overly knocking it, but it’s just like street fighting, you know? It’s like going out in an alley; you might as well go out and pick up a brick or a bat. Using steroids seems like it is being accepted in a lot of sports like it’s fair play, and it’s not.

RS: There were more whispers that Evander and Tyson used it, but there wasn’t anything loud said.

DQ: Yeah, but I’m talking about all sports now. Athleticism is not what it used to be where you dig down and have it come from your gut. You know, by working hard and using all of your natural ability, and you don’t use no enhancers and get an edge from nothing artificial. If you turn a blind eye to that, the integrity of the sport is lost. But I do still love boxing and that is why I want to come back and be and asset.

RS: Who was your toughest opponent?

DQ: I would definitely have to say the first Saad fight – that was a heck of a fight. He was tough…he was tough. Even though I was older with Evander and had to chase him, but if you watch the fight, he was dead in that fight. Ask the people at your website to watch the fight in the fourth and fifth rounds, and they’ll tell you how dead he was. Watch it, because it was going as I planned, but I thought I would get him around the ninth. It was my pressure that I was putting on. It was going as I planned but after the fourth or fifth round, they gave him something to drink. Watch it…watch it. Then he comes back and looks better in the last half of the fight than anyone looks in the first two or three rounds…that’s crazy – that’s crazy. That was worst than a stick-up, I mean let’s be fair. I have resentment for it today because I know in my heart of hearts that he cheated and a lot of people are cheating today. That’s what I say about sports; you put your heart in it and you think everything is fair, and then it’s not.

Come on, whats his balding got to do with it?... how about Shavers, Hagler and Hopkins were they on roids too??.... losing your hair doesnt make you a roider.... as for Tyson I think its very likely he took roids.... far more likely than Holifield... it also goes some way top explain his erratic behaviour over the years...

Well, I didn't exactly say that did I? Balding IS a side effect of juicing and we know he was balding because his hair was badly receeding...All I'm saying is, like several other factors it MAY hint that Evander was being a naughty boy. Just a sign, which could mean something or nothing, like the severe acne on Golota's back etc.

I've always said that Holifield would have been bigger imo had he used steroids... having a great physique doesnt make you a roider... look at fighters like Cleve Williams, Harold Johnson, Ken Norton, Max Baer... all had amazing builds but I doubt either of them were roiders... I've got far more suspicions about Tyson... how does a guy develop a build like he had while still a teenager??....

I dunno if Holy wouldve been bigger. Maybe, maybe not. There was a difference in his size when having time off and when fighting. I just hope that a lot of his great performances weren't juice-inspired.

Ring magazine - who like to insist Holy was THE heavyweight of the 90s/early 00s - appear to be getting upset. One of their guys has done of piece on why steroids should be legalized, LOL

Anyone hear about Sly Stallone, importing HGH to Oz? Blooody celebs get off scot free. Stallone admitted to taking steroids ages ago. It was in the Sunday Mirror or People supplement sometime in the 90s.

Holyfield's time spent training with 6 time Mr Olympia and fellow Atlantan Lee Hainey might be a reason to suspect him.

Bodybuilders of his standing routinely use heavy cycles of steriods - he could easily have introduced steriods - may be even oral ones so they were no injections - into Holy's diet.

Vargas hooked up with a bodybuilder and we all saw him fail a dope test not long after..

Tyson is natrually a big man.

When he was 14 he had a bigger bone structure than Holyfield at 25

Have you ever stood next to Tyson?

His hands head, shoulders are huge. Even his teeth are big.

Ive met Holyfield his hands wrists look tiny in comparison to Tyson.

Whatever the case, people have been suspicious of Holyfield taking steroids for years. All the speculation now adds to that, and this will not be good for Evander, regardless if he's guilty/innocent.

I very much doubt Tyson took steroids. Mike would not have needed to. When Tyson fought Henry Tillman in their first amateur bout, Mike weighed 198lbs, 14st 4lbs, and he was solid, very thick set.

I've met Tyson & Holyfield. Tyson's leg muscles are massive in comparision to Evander's.

Holyfield bringing Tyson into the equation is a way of trying to divert it all from himself. Tyson has enough problems of his own at the moment.

Just because Tyson was so big early doesnt mean that he wasnt given something... how does a guy get an 18 inch neck by the age of 16??.... if you're doubting Holifields physique then Tysons is even more fishy!... and Evander never tried to break opponents arms or eat their ears....

It was an absolutely awful pile of excuse making pissing and moaning you could ever read. I could not watch Holyfield fight for months afterwards. The guy is a great competitor but has very little class when he is beaten, even years afterwards he tries to take credit away from the guys who beat him.
definitely there's always an excuse for not winning and Lewis always felt Evander was a bad sportman and not a genuine person.

Was it the INappropriately titled book, "Evander Holyfield: HUMBLE WARRIOR" - I hear that one is an absolute load of rubbish.

Lets look at the facts:

1. Admits to taking a steroid in 2004 for a medical condition

2. To bulk up to been a heavyweight he gained 20lbs of solid muscle maintaining stamina and enlisted the help of a steroids expert in Lee Haney who isn't greatly knowledgable about training but is knowledgeable about steroids. Usually when someone adds muscle naturally they also add bodyfat, not the case here.

3. Prematurely bald - steroid side effect

4. Thin skin and bloated muscles - tell tail steroid signs

5. Had a heart problem in mid-90s - steroids can develop heart conditions, it is very unusual for a world class athlete to get heart problems.

6. Gained a further 10lbs of muscle when he faced Tyson.

As for Tyson after coming out of prison he hooked up with steroid guru Chad Nicholls, pre-prison I doubt he juiced, if your hooking up with Chad Nichols its either for dieting tips or injectable tips.

Other very likely steroid users - both Klitchkos, McCline, Golota, Mosley, Pacman
