supervisor's name

Post by edo »

Before all, hello to all the boxing fans present in this forum. I saw with satisfaction that in boxer's records, for any bout were recently added the referee and judges names. why do not add even the supervisor's name? As a representative of the organization that puts the title on the line, could be easier contacted by press and interested people. :)

With all due respect, PR is something the sanctioning body should do itself.

In Australia title governing bodies’ appointed fight supers are considered no more than "junket boys"
Simply because respective State Regulators are in charge of the fight(s) and not WBA, WBC, IBF, WBE, WBF, NBC etc etc appointed persons.

Rightly so, after all, what would they know e.g. about New South Wales legislation & its rules & regs?

Hate to sink my boot in, but here is an example.

In the recent Anthony Mundine/Sam Soliman fight, WBA’s appointed fight supervisor was PABA’s President Yangsup Shim.
The problem with Mr Shim was he didn’t speak nor understand a word of English.
Just so he didn’t get a total left out feeling he was allowed to collate the scores, which also proved to be a problem…..@ end of round 5 he was he was still collating round 3 and it got worse as the fight progressed.

Nothing new to me, over the years I’ve encountered this numerous times, not to mention “junket boy” judges that don’t know/understand 10 point must system..
