Nige on Calzaghe

"Joe is a fantastic fighter who is still largely under-rated.

Yes, I too am a big supporter/fan of Joe Calzaghe but he must have a more credible opponent next time - As a true world champion he should only fight challengers who have a chance against him - Kessler, Hopkins, Mundine etc - Fighting and beating any one of these would get him back the respect he deserves - An all British showdown with Froch would be good and put an end to all the Froch hype about knocking Joe out which I doubt he can do - If he does fight in July lets hope its a real fight with a proper contender.

i have to agree. im sure if you are champion for a year or so yes one belt would be good, but 10 years and still only the WBO im affraid to say that is shocking and it makes you wander why Calzaghe has been on a different direction from other world champios titles. money has nothing to do with it, if you can fill Millenium stadium by fighting a man who has no chance then surely money can be made by fighting a worthy opponant for another title belt.

Calzaghe is just an over rated boxer who has been guided very well, who can blame him, he's made his dosh the easy way.
