Great to see Carl Johanneson going for the Euro Superfeather title , he's got to take on champ Leva Kirakosyan, who beat him in an upset a couple of years ago.
Kirakosyan has proved that win was no fluke though, by staying unbeaten since that fight , and winning the Euro title in Portugal, knocking out the hometown favourite in that one. So Kirakosyan is no push over.
Its at Town Hall, Leeds on 13th of July. Should be a cracker.
Great fight but i back Johanneson this time with a degree of caution, Kirakosyan has vastly improved of late and it will be a tough ask. I like Johaneson's style, come on Carl!
Also the Russian will be the first quality fighter who carries a decent punch Johanasson has faced since the last time they fought. Hope Carl can do it thoughv
Fantastic news!!! Carl has a real chance of getting revenge and win the European title in one night. A great opportunity for him and I really hope he does it. It's another positive step for British boxing too. Carl's won the Area, British and now a challenge for the EBU. It just feels like it's a career worth following when it's done like this.
