I just re-watched a couple of Kessler fights. First, his fight with Manny Siaca with German (or Danish?) commentary and then the Mundine fight with Barry Micheal and co calling it and I have to say the Siaca commentary made more sense than Barry Micheal!!! I know we've said it before but something really needs to be done about it. At the very least they need to stop letting him score fights, he gave three rounds even, what a joke. He also has a tendancy to call numerous 10-8 rounds when there are no knockdowns and neither fighter is in real trouble! He is a disgrace.
But what can be done??? If you had the power to sack the entire Australian commentary team and replace them with your own selections who would they be? Could Ray Warren call the fights???

Perhaps we could import The Colonel. Hang on, he knows even less than Barry Michael. OK, how about that shrieking clown Pete Peters who ruined many a good fight in the 80's with his ridiculous voice and comments ? No? Ray Mitchell is dead so I guess he's out. Just have to follow the advice given above and turn down the volume. I like to crank up a bit of Eminem or even Jethro Tull rather than listen to them dribbling sh*t, especially that stuffed shirt Gryvas or whatever his name might be.

I really like the combination of Joe Tessitore and Teddy Atlas. They are probably my favourite commentators in boxing. Teddy scores rounds very well and his pre-match fight plans are scarilly accurate. The only complaint I have about Teddy is his overuse of metaphors in commentary like:
"When you plant a seed you need to give it water, his right hook is that seed but he needs to feed it with the water of his jab"
"When you plant a seed you need to give it water, his right hook is that seed but he needs to feed it with the water of his jab"
ME!!!
That's the only commentator that would 100% agree with me.
The scoring in boxing is so subjective and while Michaels might not score the same way as me or you that's the way he sees it. He's no more biased then some judges can be.
The Colonel annoys me with his arrogance, watching the PBF v DLH card he talks about his scorecard like it is 100% right.

Yea, we really do have a bad crop there. The Colenel is embarassingly bad. I cant believe promoters keep using him.Collins2000 wrote:Perhaps we could import The Colonel. Grybas I think is a very good TV person, and good anchor for boxing, but obviously needs to be that host, and have one or two good people around him.
there just doesnt seem to be that person in this country. The ex-fighters struggle to string a proper sentance together...Brad Vocale isnt too bad, but it's not saying much at all.
Our commentators talk and barrack too much!!!
