WBO junior lightweight champion Joan Guzman (27-0, 17KOs) has been forced to pull out of his scheduled May 26th bout against WBO lightweight champion Mike Katsidis (22-0, 20 KOs) due to a hand injury he suffered in training.

Yup read the same thing on a different site this morning :(

This is really devastating for Katsidis. Will he keep the date? Who will he fight now? Hopefully not a Mundine style opponent...

That's all we could hope for at this stage Marlin. I doubt a world class fighter would be willing to step in on a few weeks notice. Hopefully a decent fighter is willing to step in and Rocky can make an entertaining start to his US campaign.

Unfortunately you are right. If he keeps that date, which I assume he will seeing as being on HBO would be a huge boost for his career, he will likely have to find a journeymen to fill in at this stage. I guess we just have to hope he can put on a good show and secure the Guzman fight at a later date...
