Craig Docherty returns tonight

Post by pm »

Cannae find much online about it but there's a decent bit about it in todays Scottish Sun basically saying how he lost interest in the sport after a couple of loses to Boris Sinitsin and Alex Arthur and has spent the last year bevvying with his mates.

The former Commonwealth super-featherweight champ says he was weighing more than 13 stone during his absence! :o

Doc returns tonight at lightweight against Worcester's Billy Smith at the Glasgow Thistle Hotel.

I like Docherty – good fighter. But Billy could make it difficult for him, especially as Billy has been active and fights mainly at light-welterweight. Docherty, remember, is only a super-feather.

Doc - really nice lad. Hope he does well on his comeback. He was just a little short of real top class but better than most.

I can still really clearly remember the uppercut Arthur landed on him to break his nose in their bout, it a was sickening shot.
