Ruddock / Lillebuen

Post by trondkris »

Hi
I just have to ask why you seem to have retired Rune Lillebuen of Norway, never heard of that.
And you list Donovan Ruddock as 37-5-1, but as my Fightfax book have him as 38-5-1 I assume you are wrong, or...?

Cheers

Ruddock / Lillebuen

Rune Lillebuen is just inactive. As pro boxing in Norway is banned, it's not a big thing in the norwegian newspapers or other medias. I read somewhere though, that he again had trouble with the law and might be in the slammer.
What fight of Ruddock is missing in your record?
:-?

His second pro bout in Fight Fax is incorrectly attributed too him. The "opponent" was a Middleweight. I actually noticed that tonight, as I was going through records and locked his.

What, you mean Garland Tipton?
What does fightfax say about this?

Haven't heard anything about Lillebuen being in jail, I heard rumours he's scheduled to fight on the Palle show on november 29th.

Tipton fought Jerry Reddick not Donovan Ruddock. I'm not sure if Fight Fax corrects mistakes in their records. They still have a dead Tiger Flowers fighting in 1929, and I'm sure they've heard about that.

Someone put the Tipton fight back on Razor Ruddock's record.

I fixed it, and added a comment explaining the situation on Jerry Reddick's record. Also why is "joe' putting comments about pro debuts on fighter's records. I thought we had agreed, at least for modern fighters where it is easily determined, that we would not do this.

Add me to the list with Joe. I usually add the comment for all new boxers. I have not gone back to existing fighters though (unless they have a less than 5 fights or so and I happen to be in their record) Honestly, Matt I don't recall such an agreement and I must say I don't see the harm in the comment. If anything I would think it could only be helpful. I'm willing to be convinced otherwise.

The comment may be redundant on a completed record. It is however a great help in identifying boxers with the same name. Jose Lopez for example.

I think you guys are right. As long as it specific, to which fighter is making the debut.
