I just posted Lamon's victory of Derrell Dixon back in 1995, which led to him representing the U.S. at the Pan Am games. Having not followed his career before this fight, I've always thought of this as his coming out party. Enjoy!

Lamon Brewster video
About halfway down the page in this Interview Lamon talks about some of the distractions that led to him losing to Nate Jones in the Olympic trials. Certainly not an excuse. Just an explanation. All fighters have to deal with distractions during crucial times in their careers.

Nate Jones
I met Nate back in 1996 right before the Olympics,we shared a few laughs about the infamous bite he received from Davarryl Williamson (Williamson also beat Brewster at the Olympic trials so Lamon must have been very distracted by the divorce). Very easy going guy, it is a shame his career ended the way it did. When Lamon is focused and on he is very hard to beat,Wlad may find out the first fight wasnt the fluke he thought it was. Wonder if any Vaseline will be in Klit's camp THIS time, lol.

The question is - will Lamon be "on" or not? Wlad might be a little better prepared this time too. A little more cautious and won't run out of gas so soon. I'm looking forward to the bout.
