Can anyone help me verify the amatuer record of a fighter named Joey Torres, who boxed around 1976/77? He was also known as Joey Torrey.

If it's the Joey Torres I think it is, he was a great amateur in California. I don't know his record, but I've heard him announced as a former world amateur champ. Anyway...he was sent to prison for shooting (Torres claimed it was an accident) his manager in a dispute over money. He was recently released and turned pro, although he is in his forties.

I am indeed looking to verify the amateur record of Joey Torres, the fighter from California. Does anyone know if this can be done for a boxer who fought as an amateur in the 1970s?
