De La Hoya eyes Hatton at new Wembley!

Hatton's been promised a £30,000,000 fight with De La Hoya if he beats Castillo, that's around $60,000,000 and 40,000+ of Hatton's Manchester faithful would be expected to flock London

Let's hope Hatton-De La or Mayweather gets put together, but there are obstacles - Jose Luis Castillo, De La Hoya's size, etc

The fight is proposed for welterweight (can De La Hoya make that??)

There is an article on BS about DLH continuing with Freddie as his trainer should he fight on.... but its a big should he at the moment. It seems like Team Golden Boy want him to continue more than Oscar himself.

His wife has said she expects Oscar to retire this time.

Dream of a fight, every bit as good as a clash with Mayweather IMO - Dont think even the huge money will help getting Hatton and his team to agree - Hatton will never return to 147.

I think, for a fight at Wembley, against DLH and the huge money it would earn him, he could be persuaded.

I see.. Still, If Oscar got $40M plus bonuses for fighting Mayweather with 2.15 million PPV's, he's not going to make more fighting Hatton and I can't see Ricky getting a better than 40% share. So where that total $60M figure came from I don't know. Anyway, fight never happens IMO.

As big a Hatton fan as i am, De La Hoya would hand him his ass. I would not give Hatton any real hope of winning.

De La Hoya, if he chooses to have another fight, probably would look towards Hatton as his farewell fight. He knows it would get huge exposure, that it would fill a football stadium and that its one he would almost certainly win.

Hatton's got a smart team around him though, i'm sure they know not to go down this road, at least i hope

Oscar has always done best against shorter fighters that come to him. His performances against Chavez, Leija, Mayorga and Vargas bear this out, and given Hatton's size difference, I just can't see it going beyond the fourth.

That left hook and under-rated right cross would find Hatton's chin far too easliy and it would be a painful, albeit short, night for the Hitman.

Oscar is not peerless and we may not have seen the best of Ricky. DLH has never excelled in the big fights. He always chose the big names with an advantage in his side and he seldom did better than hold his own.

I doubt the split would be 50-50. De La Hoya would receive the 'lions share' of the purse. As mentioned, there are things to negotiate over first i.e. what weight the fight would be at etc.

Let's not forget there are other meaningful fight out there for Ricky, but one thinks that fighting De La Hoya could be the most financially lucrative for Rikcy more than any other bout.

Would be awesome if the fight happens, even better if Oscar were to fight in England. How great would that be? I reckon Oscar would be well-received over here!

Whilst I acknowledge Billy Graham is a vital part of Hatton's success, one should not forget how crucial Kerry Kayes has been in helping Ricy since they've been working together. Kayes is guru when it comes to diet, nutrition, maximising strength etc.

Ricky has previously admitted that before Kayes came on board, he struggled to make 140lbs, would dehydrate himself, limit his water in-take etc. Kayes could teach a hell of a lot to other fighters. Ricky is lucky to have such a knowledgeable individual if you ask me.
