Odd Bit of History

Post by Cap »

On December 1st, 1910 in Seattle, Tommy Burns was involved in a serious accident that cancelled his proposed third fight with Bill Lang. He was riding a trolley that crashed, putting him in the hospital with a broken leg and twisted back and shoulder. On March 11, 1911 Canadian papers carried the story that Burns intended to sue the Puget Sound Electric Company for $50,000. Don't know if he ever went through with the suit, but he apparently vacated the Empire title.
