My EVERETT DAILY HERALD newspaper of Dec. 14, 1937, reported that Max's bout with Harry Thomas occurred the night before - Dec. 13. We have it as Dec. 14. This edition also reports Benny Lynch's bout in England and Pete Lello's Chicago bout, so the date of the issue is not in question.

I just performed a Historical NEW YORK TIMES on-line search, and the Dec. 14 edition also reports it occurred the night before.
