Martin Lawrence an amateur champion!

I heard him say it on the Jay Leno show. He was the AAU champion and came in runner up in the NY golden gloves. MARTIN LAWRENCE! that is the last guy I would have thought could throw 'em!

ANother interesting thing he said was he was born in Germany. His dad was with the navy and his mom had him there when his dad was stationed there. He was only there for a few months though.

ANy one know more about his amateur career (is it right to say career when it is amateurs?)
