After the question was posed in another thread it got me wondering, so I asked BoxRec's resident stat guru, JCS, and he was good enough to run the stats for me:

The following list is the same as the one above, except it also includes boxers who were born or reside in Australia, but may have a different nationality set in the BoxRec database.

It only adds a few guys..

John Mugabe? The Beast was pretty much Yesterday's Hero when he came out here. I am surprised South African World Bantamweight Champ Vic Toweel was not included as he moved here after he retired.

There's some excellent fighters in there. Some are way down on the list of title fights for different reasons but certainly not because of a lack of talent. Hector Thompson for example had 2 losing title fights. To none other than Duran and Cervantes

Good point, what bout Tony Mundine getting Monzon. one title fight in his career was a shame. He deserved more

Young Pluto?

Young Pluto was a Canadian born South African who spent some time fighting in Australia in the late 19th Century. He fought George Dixon for the World Featherweight Title in 1899.

He was only a pup at the time
