Audley signs with Hobson, fights on Sep 29

Hi All

Just a quick shout out to let you know I am fighting on September 29th in Sheffield on a world title show to be showcased on Setanta in the UK. Tune in!!

This outing is low key and will give me the chance to shake of some ring rust. I expect to be back in the ring in Nov / Dec.

I will not be able to respond to messages; I'm focusing in these few weeks to make sure I'm sharp.

I will give more details about my deal with Dennis Hobson after the fight, but I'm happy to announce our partnership today and wish to thank Dennis for the opportunity.

I can hardly contain my excitement, I would who TBA will turn out to be? Maybe Simpkin? Probably too dangerous after his recent KO victory?

I respect him for comming back and still trying he doesn't need the money. He is tecnicaly good and works well to the body now stop being so bloody cynical you lot

Audley is now, perhaps, the most exiciting fighter in the UK. He has good skills but we know he can be finished by one punch. This means that opponents will fancy their chances.

I hope he does well.

simpkin was the first name i could thing of, but audley does not want to fight anyone who gets near to him and who is a brawler..simpkin is definately of this ilk.

god knows who he will fight, i hope its not paul king, that would be ridiculous im afraid.

While a part of me is sniggering at "how the mighty have fallen" from multi million pound BBC deals, to an undercard live on Setanta. I do however, take my hat off for him to swalloning his pride and sticking at it.

Decent fight that would be... but maybe earlier than three fights down the line - Audley is no spring chicken.

Can never understand why Kenna and McBride have never fought... McBryde would be a decent fight 3 down the line.

Can I ask you both (Josh and Oliver) have always been fans of Audley or is it a case of the Brits starting to support the loser / the underdog. Eubank gained fans that he never had when he went on his big fight losing streak... Is Audley doing the same?

I respect what he is doing, it takes alot of guts, but I'll still be supporting the opponent - whoever it is. Not the I am a particular fan of Greenberg or Snowoski.

I worked with Audley on a freelance basis from 2002-2004 so naturally I continue to hope he does well.

For me they aren't a million miles apart. Audley has turned in too many underwhelming performance as a pro - his Olympic gold is completely irrelevent now to me. He is a decent BRitish level fighter, no more. Greenburg is of a similar, if lesser, ilk.

I have always been a fan, although often dissapointed with his faliour to have the fights I want to see him in.

He is a massive soutpaw who works on the inside more than many and when he is fighting well i.e. vs Williams II or Richel Hersissia looks very capable of going far.

Jack Bishop, Colin's manager has been allegedly trying to make the fight for at least the 3 years I've known Colin. McBride is still the Irish Heavyweight champion and seems the logical fight.

Bride was sturggling for an opponent on the Hatton vs. Collazo and I suggest to Colin he go for it. The Irish in Boston would have loved two Irish fighters, fighting for the title.

I didn't say they are leagues apart as individual fighters - I said Greenberg's management are not even dreaming of fighting somebody of this level.

McBride is terrible. When was the last time he even defended or fought for the Irish belt? Surely there must be some sort of time frame on defending it before it becomes vacant again?
