Can someone tell me a little about the amateurs...

..like

1. how many rounds, in general, do amateurs fight for
2. How long is each round
3. What's the intensity usually like, ie is it a lot busier than the pros because it lasts less time, is it more toe to toe, trading punches sorta stuff or can you control the fight whatever, if you have a long dominant jab etc.

1. Usually 3 rounds

2. 3 minutes

3. Land as many punches as you can even if they are meaningless because the judges go by punch count. Also forget the body as judges usually dont count those.

Depends on ages, 1 minute or 2 minute rounds. 3 rounds. Every 3 clean punches count as 1 point. 20 pt must system. Judges go by clean, good punches. Slaps and glancing don't count. Body shots count.

3 rounds for anything except open division, 2-3 min. rounds depending on weight... and judging varies. Olympic type scoring only counts punches landed, others are 20 point must systems judging on 4 different objectives (Punches landed, effective aggression, etc)...
