Try downloading AVG-Anti-Spyware from download.com.

http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Spywar ... ag=lst-0-1

I had this problem some time ago. It wasn't a serious issue just as you say annoying. Also try downloading Ad-Aware SE Personal from the same site. Run these programs and see how you go.

The other one is AVG free edition and the third Bazooka. I am unfortunate enough to have Windows Live Onecare and it did fook all when I got a Trojan Horse recently but the above two sorted things out.

Run AVG first.
Give the man a pat on the back - can someone put the thread at the top of the page as I am sure readers of this forum will have to use the bloody good information in the future.

I have already!!!!!!

Your nt big enough to smash it - be careful the bug or whatever it is doesn't smash you.

Sleep tight - mind the bugs don't bite!!! :TU:

Use Hijackthis

I would read the forums on http://www.thatcomputerguy.us - and then ask one of their experts to assist. But they will ask you for a highjackthis log.

They are excellent - really know their shit.

Its a good forum, a bit geeky and everyone is very polite. So be patient.

I wouldn't say straight off that the problem started from Limewire - just act dumb in the begining - they will soon work it out. Limewire is a bit of a no no with regards to Spyware

They should be okay, probably give you a bit of a telling off.

The only problem I have with the site when I have a problem is the fact that is so popular and the time zone difference. They are VERY thorough - so sometimes its more than a simple virus scan and delete and sometimes with the time zone difference/and them being very buzy - sometimes it can take a while.

I've used it and do not care for it at all. I recommend sticking with XP, or considering Ubuntu as suggested above in this thread.

I like Vista. If you're computer literate at all I'd suggest making the change. Much more driven for internet/messaging/pictures etc. And not that difficult to grasp essentially it's a more user friendly version of XP and works in pretty much the same way.
