ERROR IN BOXREC RECORDS

Post by Richb1930 »

IN LEE SALA'S RECORD YOU HAVE TOMMY FREEMAN BEATING LEE BY KO IN ROUND ONE. IF THIS IS SO, LEE WOULD BE ONLY 5 YEARS OLD. HE WAS BORN IN 1927 AND THIS BOUT LISTED AS BEING IN 1932. PLEASE CHECK THIS OUT. THANKS. RICHBART

Sometime there is no holding those kids back, no wonder he lost though. Actually this opened up a whole can of worms, there is another boxer by the name of Leo Salo of North Pelham(Bronx) I have another bout for Lee Sala vs. Tommy McAleer, March 26, 1930 that says Sala is from North Pelham. The bout with Freeman, says Sala in from Donora, PA, same town as the 1940-50s Lee Sala. May have to get into the DNA to sort this one out.

The bout is in the Ring Record book the way it has been entered, could be Lee's dad. Contacting him would be a bonus.
