I'm not too fussed why...but i'm just glad it's going on! Can't wait to see each bill materialise. At the moment the Fight Academy one with Dean Francis on seems the most solid with Duddy's up in the air. They have been saying he is coming to Belfast for ages now but it hasn't come to fruition.

I'm just saying, its like buses......wait ages for one to come along then you get two in a row.

But coming so close to Christmas its hard to see them both selling well.

Very true. The recent Park Avenue Hotel show was packed out though so it proves the Ulster folk still love their Boxing and demand more of it!!

Its about time the Kings Hall got going again! 2 weeks in a row too  I'll be going to both, at only 4 miles away happy days!

Steve were you at the Park Ave you show? ....I see Gary Hamilton lost on points for the Northern Ireland Area Light Welterweight title, did you see it?

I know Gary, used to train with him at Billy Murrays Kick-Boxing gym in East Belfast when Gary first started Kick-Boxing. He's a quality kick boxer, I have saw him defend his World Kick-Boxing title, but he seems to never make the winning step over to Boxing. I saw his first pro Boxing fight at the Ulster Hall, but asides that was his only Boxing win.

I think the Wayne McCullough tickets are on sale Monday, any word on when the Duddy fight will be 100% confirmed?

Steve, just caught your report on the Park Ave, happy days good read. I know Alio as well from East Belfast, hard working stable of fighters he has he's putting a lot of work into local fights in Belfast which is good.

Hello Chris...how's it going? Yes i was at the Park Avenue bill, wrote a report for BBN. It was a good show with a great main event. Looking forward to the two upcoming King's Hall bills if both come off. Will be great for Belfast Boxing and handy for me to go too as well. A quick scoot down the Lisburn Road to Balmoral :TU:

Not sure about when and where the tickets are on sale for Duddy, i'm always a touch sceptical as to whether he will ever come and fight up here. Seems promising but i keep an eye on the Belfast Telegraph or the Irish News to see when the tickets are on sale mate.

John Duddy will fight on Dec. 8 at the King's Hall. Should the opponent who we've accepted, accept the fight, it will be a compelling bout. Brian Peters has put on very successful, classy, exciting shows before and will do so once again. Which is why he was asked to promote John again.

See you on Dec. 8. You can count on it!

Its going well Steve, thanks! Must get to one of those Park Ave nights, good venue for a small hall boxing show, the Kick-Boxing there is always good as well. I read your report mate, sounded a good night.

Dec will be a great month for Belfast Boxing alright, McCullough and Duddy back to back and easy to get too for us for a change. Closer to the time drop me an email and we could meet up for a pint in the Kings Head before hand if you want :D

Jabby, good to read all seems to be on for Duddy at the Kings Hall, hope we get to see him in a good fight like your saying. It would be nice to get the Kings Hall roaring again like the glory days, good fights is the key to that . Look forward to hearing who Duddy will be fighting against :TU:

Thats my tickets booked now for McCullough and Duddy for the two cards! :TU:

McCulloughs will be a non title fight, the European is not on the line. Even though Wayne's from Belfast, he now holds an American passport and you can't have dual Passports" if you become an American, so according to "passports" Waynes not European now and therefore the European title could not be on the line anyway.

Looking forward to both nights! :D

I thought the reason Wayne couldn't fight for the European title was because he hasn't fought (let alone beaten anyone) in the past 18 months?

Not meant as a dig at Wayne, I just thought the EBU (unlike the WBC/WBA, etc) had some sort of standard for challengers?

That could be true States with the European rules, even if he had say fought and won in the last 18 months, with Wayne now being an American Citizen and not a Citizen on paper of any European country now, my thinking to that would be he can't fight for the European title now anyway because of that.

Even though Waynes from Belfast, when you become a citizen of America you cannot have dual nationally. That would be my thinking as to why the European title could not be put on the line anyway, maybe I'm wrong :)

I don't think the title means much anyway in this fight its all about trying to beat the man who took Dunne out in a round.

Hopefully both shows do well, back to back leading up to Christmas is a testing time, we need more Boxing here so I hope they work out.

Surely one of these shows will have to cancel it's madness having 2 in a week when Belfast hasn't had a decent bill in years. I see Martin Lindsey has jumped ship from the Hobson show to the Brian Peters one and Lee has also now done a deal with Peters so hes not on the Hobson show now either.

I presume RTE will show the Duddy one online but what about the McCullough one, is that confirmed for Setanta as part of Hobsons deal?

The mccullogh show is not being televised, so I'm going to go to that one.

December 8 is a boxing nite in front of the tv - The duddy fight I'm watching on RTE, then flick to sky for the big fight countdown!

Not being televised? I thought Setanta were going to show it? How is the show going to go ahead without tv money? They'd need more than a full house to make it pay and with the one on the following week that's highly unlikely. Looks like this one is on seriously shaky ground.

Might be just as well, it was madness for McCullough to be fighting this guy anyway after so long out of the ring.

Looks like your right, here's setantas confirmed boxing lineup until Christmas and no mention of McCullough.

10/11/07 Miguel Cotto v Shane Mosley Welterweight
23/11/07 Fernando Vargas v Ricardo Mayorga Super welterwieght
15/12/07 Alex Arthur v Stephen Foster Super featherweight

So does that mean Hobson is finished with setanta then?

BTW I would be amazed if Eastman turns up for the Duddy fight. I hope its not another ruse to sell tickets to the boxing belfast public!

He came all the way from Guyana for the press conference last week so thats a good start. To be fair to Eastman I don't think he's pulled out of too many fights, just a case of him not turning up in the right frame of mind for some of his recent ones like Ashira and Elcock. I think he'll be up for Duddy becuase a win over him will probably get him another title shot.

I heard Setanta were showing it way back when Dean Francis was on the bill defending the Commonwealth. It said something like "Francis defends his Commonwealth title in Belfast on Setanta Sports....etc" and that was the first i heard of the bill. Next thing McCullough was on it and headlining.

The undercard to the Duddy one is starting to take shape according to the BBN calendar. Willie Thompson, Martin Watson and a few others are mentioned now. Not surprised to see Thompson on it, i am sure he will bring a following with him and is a solid ticket seller.

I imagine Duddy will be on www.rte.ie/live unless Setanta pick it up instead.
