Im going the fight on Saturday and apart from the main event theres just nothing to get excited about.

With money coming from Setanta and HBO, surely Mr Warren couldve bolstered the undercard a little.

Any Thoughts?

I dunno FW has put on some terrible ones in his time!
The Hatton-Castillo was awful as well

Well I think the undercard for Calzaghe Manfrado was worse becasue there wasn't much of a main event at the top.

Awful.

For there isnt one single fight that would stand up on its own.

Oscar knows how to build a card... Lacy v Manfredo is a good support and im sure more will certainly follow.

It can't really be called the worst. Hatton-Tszyu had a bad one. Hatton's cards in the States have also been deplorable.

It's just a sad fact of life that, over here, the main event sells the card, and you ain't likely to get much more than that, not for a BIG event (see the aforementioned Hatton-Tszyu fight), with the main event taking so much of the money. Frank did some decent cards recently (such as the O2 Arena show, where we got Luevano-Cook on the undercard, amongst some other decent fights, like Pryce-Small)where there was quality through the bill. But for nights like Calzaghe-Kessler, it just ain't happening.

I went to that bill in Atlantic City. A very surreal day. I was there the second the door opened got to my seat and it was already round 2 of the Alvarez fight. The bill went on forever, it was a boxing anoraks dream even though a couple of the fights were stinkers (Ruiz in particualr). To make it even better, I had a good three figure bet on Spinks on points which paid for the whole weekend.....

Happy days.

It looks pretty week I agree. Macca's bout doesn't whet my appetite due to never having heard of his opponent. Skelton-Long speaks for itself.

The fights I'm looking forward to the most on the undercard are the ones that feature Bellew and Cox and they have only just turned pro! I hope Setanta feature them.

Only the main event draws, you all know that, so why would a promoter, a businessman spend money needlessly on undercard fights?

Top Rank usually stack their cards pretty well. The Cotto Mosley undercard ain't bad.

Good grief are you for real !!!!!!! I'm not old enough to remember.......you're telling me Hamed, Winky Wright, BRODIE, GOMEZ , HIDE and whoever the other dudes were I can't remember the full list......all on ONE card..........what the F !!!!!!!! that's like overkill.......mind you I appreciate at the time some reputations may not have been what they are now.
And Brian Coleman too, classic ! L pts 6 to boot..top form in Brian's book......and that's not an insult it's a compliment. The guy don't roll over for anyone.
Would love to have seen Winky box live .......if I could be a boxer I would be Ronald Winky Wright and I've been to hours and hours of boxing and only seen him like 3 times......think it was the win over Foster the Viking when I was a kid....just superb boxing.

i've just re-read that......Collins , Thompson., Williams on the same card also (sorry I@m not familiar with Tunstall)..........these days ONE, YES ONE of those fights and they'd build an effing bill around it. That's scary.

Tunstall(by which I presume you mean Dunstan) was the British Cruiserweight champion at the time and just over a year later would go on to become the European champ .

I dunno about the Francis v McKenzie undercard being the worst , I didn't think there was a bad fight on it...........
