Is Hamilton a lock to win this?

A month ago I would've said yes definetly, but after that dreadful finish to the season which cost him the world championship...

It goes out on air this year on Dec 9 at 7PM, the day after Hatton's fight with Mayweather. Surely that will impact the voting, especially if Ricky wins! Betfair has Hatton to win at 5/1 or just over evens to win W/out Hamilton.

Cos last year some obscure sport with a royal name on horseback got the nod when Calzaghe should have got it without arguement.

Should be Dario Franchitti or James Tosland - but it won't be. If Hatton beats Mayweather then he should definately be the winner - but he won't be.

You're forgetting that the majority of people who vote, don't give a toss about sports, the fact Hamilton lost will just give him sympathy votes.

shamme Hatton is fighting the day before, if it had been earlier and he beat him he'd stand a chance I reckon as he'd be more popular with Joe Public

actually that makes it a little bit better for hatton. Its all on a public vote now. I would imagine Hatton would be in the top 4 so the top 4 get the public votes on the night. If Hatton wins his title fight it will proberly make him the sports personality winner.

Yeah its crap. I dont even watch it. Sue Barker and other has beens talking PC bollocks.And cringe worthy interviews.

I'll be going for a curry and couple of pints instead of sitting in and watching this shite.

Does anyone else think that this title should be subjected to a bit of Ant and Dec/GM TV etc scrutiny?

Beth Twaddle finished third last year ahead of Hatton and Calzaghe etc.
I am a sports fanatic and I had barely heard of her.

I would like to see the votes published afterwards.

For this year how can Hamilton win when his team cheated and he got immunity for testifying!

it all depends on how much coverage hatton-mayweather gets.

last year they left boxing until the very end after loads of people had already voted for others who had a feature. :x

lewis hamilton will likely get it though.

Agreed. Hatton may have popularity, but Calzaghe is ahead in terms of achievement, longevity etc. He doesn't come out with profanities on live tv. Nor does he bin two promoters for own interests. Can anyone tell me what Dennis Hobson did so wrong that he was shat on from a great height
