Bout to throw up!

Post by thepocketrocket »

This is nauseating drivel.. you would think that Calzaghe had fought Godzilla and King Kong in his 'Ten year reign of terror', when in fact he has fought bum after bum, you dont see Hatton holding on to a title, he wins it and then goes for the BEST fight..

God I hope Kessler drills him

Both title holders, far better than Rick Thornberry and Tocker Pudwill, Mkirtchian and Manfredo!!!!

If the best wins on your resume are Eubank(dead at the weight and beatn up by Collins twice) Brewer(chinny as fook and past it) and Lacy(well!) then something is going wrong, I take Tszyu, Castillo, Urango, Maussa and Collazo anyday!!

Notes I think you mean.

I'm not watching Setanta right now, I've just signed up and apparently my signal takes a little while to kick in - the only thing they haven't told me is which blinking channel it's on.
I've got Sky plus so it goes up to 900 and odd channel numbers......it'll take half an hour.
If HBO were talking up Calzaghe's "reign of terror" as Pocket Rocket says, I could undrstand it, but isn't it hosted by that Bunce fella.......he should realise he's broadcasting to a lot of Brits who, as mkuch of a calzaghe fan I am, know that he has fought some dubious -quality opponents on a number of occasions.

In Joe's defence tho' I think cos he's that good he often gets accused of having walkover fights. I mean, that Byron Mitchell would have taken one or 2 guys heads off from what I witnessed.

Ottke had already taken him to school, he was very limited....

I think you have a point and this is where my problem lies..I feel the intelligence of the fans is being insulted..

Plus I get annoyed that Joe has got away with conning the public for 10 yrs..just fight these bums and at the end of the reign all the revisonism will kick in and they were all 'top class opponents'

It winds me up

thanks Terry,

i've had the thing on for about ten minutes (man listening to Duke McKenzie in the Lacy fight , i kind of get where some people are coming from)

just been out for an hour , NOW i go to the same channel and it won't come on for some reason, coming up to 5 minutes.

I daren't turn over now in case I have to wait til the 5th round of the fight to start watching !!

i noticed on BritishBoxing website they're posting results so i turned away just in time......I was hoping to see a couple of undercard fights instead of a load of drivel, as it is I've got neither.
I should add i only bought it an hour and a half ago but i don't get why it came on b4 and now won't. Luckily there are still a few hours to go.

get you now Terry......didn't realise it was a preview show.

they said allow up to an hour for your signal to arrive. It must be a little late.........ah, as we speak, i think it's Cleverley, he's meant to be pretty good never seen him yet

Hatton wins it and goes fror the best fight?

Hatton wins the TITLE against the WEAKEST oppoition and didges the REAL tough fights, NOW he is goong for the ££££s against Mayweather AND WHO CAN BLAME HIM!

He still runs from WITTER.

JC is better than Hatton.

A 140Lbs Calzaghe beats a 140 Hatton.

Calzaghe is THE BET BRITAIN HAS TO OFFER despite Fwank Wankerrern making him fight inferior opposition.

Remember - Hatton has only beaten a OLD KT and a shot Castillo.

Pretty nauseating stuff from Setanta and especially Bunce.

OK, it wasn't Calzaghe - Starie 2, but it was a pretty straightforward nights work for Joe, no?

Yeah, if the fight had been exciting then Kessler would have won..Joe made it pretty boring(for the casual fan) and then dominated, the traditional Calzaghe flurries would have lost him the fight...

And as for Setanta, despite jimmy whining, the coverage was sickly, obviously they have to keep Warren happy and bull up the fighters but that was too much..

Enjoyed the fight, and I imagine the commentary (Rawling and Woodhall) was alot better than the US team, cause their card was astronomically bad IMO - what fight were they watching I don't know.

It was a bit of a Calzaghe love in at the start and Bunce went way OTT at the end. Good fight, but nowt really special about it. It didn't have the build up or atmosphere of Lewis vs Bruno or Eubank vs Benn, it wasn't the special performance of Calzaghe vs Lacy, and it wasn't exactly Ward vs Gatti.

I've always been a huge fan of Kessler, think he is a wonderful talent - However, for me it will take a something amazing to top the Lacy fight. Mainly because no one thought Joe could put in such a performance (we knew he could now). Whilst I think some (not all) boxing experts thought the Kessler was ALWAYS better than Lacy, the majority of fans bought the hype that Lacy was the next Tyson - he looked the bee knees at a lower level. I'm sure some fans turned up so they could witness the crowning of the next great champion... don't think even the biggest of fans have ever rated Kessler as highly as the general consensus was of Lacy (hence why Lacy was the betting favourite).

Maybe the crowd were not as loud vs Lacy, thats because their Jaws were all touching the floor. Plus we had a sensational appetiser on the undercard.
