Roman Gonzalez weight class

Post by sconradojr »

Nicaraguan boxer Roman Gonzalez should be ranked at minimum weight and not light flyweight. Roman is currently ranked #1 in the WBA, #4 in the IBF, #13 in the WBO and #20 in the WBC all of them at minimmum weight. His last fight was done at 108 pound limit because it was the first time he was traveling from Nicaragua to Japan to participate in a Teiken Promotions event and we thought that the flight would affect him negatively. Roman is also the WBA fedelatin champ at minimum weight. In his last fight Roman weighed in at 106.7 pounds and not the weight mentioned there. His opponent Eriberto Gejon weighed in at 107 pounds. It is true that Roman has fought many times at 108 pounds but this has been done only because it is very dificult for us to get opponents for him because of his profesional record (15-0,15kos) and because of his achievements as an amateur boxer (83-1, 72 kos and multiple prizes).

If its not too much trouble please change Roman back to minimum weight. He is ranked in all the mayor organizations at minimum weight.

Hi Silvio.

It is our policy to rank fighters by their actual weight, not intended weight class. Roman will remain as a light fly until he fights again as a minimumweight again.

Or...I see someone has changed him back to minimumweight already, so I guess never mind.
