Boxing clubs in city centre Manchester ?

anyone know of any? I've checked the list on the ABAE site & phoned a few but they're some way out of the centre. Before I go on and phone the rest of them does anyone know any clubs in manc city centre? Or if not a club then at least a gym with heavy/other bags?

called Golden Cobra according to t'internet. Actually I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple of MA places while staggering around NQ. Nearest actual boxing club is Northside apparently in openshaw, shame theres no ABC in the city.

yeah, it is still there.

There is an amateur club there at night and a few pros during the day - Steve Foster Jr for sure and possibly John Murray

Is that The Phil Martin Centre on Princess Parkway? I've driven past it recently.

I dont know Manchester that well but would imagine you are thinking of Master Sken's - he was one of the Mauy Thai pioneers in Britain and is a highly regarded trainer.

We have him to thank for Adrain (Carl 'The Cat') Thompson and Oliver and Humphrey Harrison (now more famous as Amir Khan's trainers..)

EDIT: Just checked and Master Sken's gym is now in Stockport so I dont know what "MAster Zens" might be>??

There was one on or near newton street called Master A's.

There is (or was) also the "Muay Thai Centre of Excellence" on portland street, opposite Yates'. It's run by two absolute gents: Master Krin and Grandmaster Woody. I think it's still there.
