If Enzo was that great he would be fighting Mormeck

Obviously Frank doesnt have the confidence in Enzo to fight the top cruiser. Haye is clearly the UK's no1 cruiser.

I don't doubt Enzo has a great chance of sparking Haye but it's the way the negotiations broke down last time that annoys me. And then press releases like this don't help either:
BIG MAC GUNS FOR HAYE-MORMECK WINNER
Setanta Sports will televise David Haye's challenge for the WBC/WBA World Cruiserweight titles against champion Jean-Marc Mormeck this Saturday in Paris.
Special guest in the Setanta studio giving his expert commentary will be WBO World Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Maccarinelli who aims to get the winner into the ring for a big unification showdown next year.
Big Mac, who defended his title last Saturday on the Joe Calzaghe-Mikkel Kessler card with a fourth round KO of Mohamed Azzaoui, said, "I've been a guest a few times in the Setanta studio but I'm really looking forward to this one because I want the winner. I'll be rooting for Haye to win because he's the one I want to fight next year. He's already pulled out of a fight against me earlier this year but if he wins and has a title then the public will want to see us get it on. There is no reason for it not to happen. Only if Haye getting the jitters again. If Mormeck wins, then I would be just as happy taking him on. Like Joe Calzaghe, I want to fight the best out there and unify titles."
Coverage of Haye-Mormeck will start from 8pm on Setanta Sports 1 plus later that that night they will also televise the blockbuster welterweight showdown between Miguel Cotto and Shane Mosley.

More rollocks coming from Enzo. Fact is, providing Haye beats Mormeck, which will not be easy by any means, Haye will not need Maccarinelli to further his career. In beating Mormeck, Haye will have established himself the No.1 @ Cruiserweight.
Am I right in saying if Haye-Maccarinelli happened, it would provide Enzo with his biggest purse to date?

It's sad to see Macca and Fwanky always bringing up Haye at every given opportunity.
It never happens the other way round does it?
Haye gave Macca his chance to fight him, without his WBO title being on the line too.Did'nt he also stand to earn his biggest ever payday?
That speaks volumes as to who really wants the fight in my eyes.
Would be a good fight, but Haye is simply a better boxer, with more power.
Would end in a KO victory for Haye in a straight shootout.
Of course, with two punchers this big, you could never be certain of anything. But no way in a million years does Haye get outboxed by Enzo!
If Haye wins tomorrow, he will never look at Macca again unfortunately.
It would be a step back

yeah, but mac will be strong at the weight, haye will be struggling with the weight. perfect time for macca, but if successful haye can shoot for heavyweight gloryHorse wrote:Surely a Maccarinelli vs Haye fight would be the biggest money fight available to either fighter, or am I wrong?
bastard shame that haye has lost his heavyweight ranking.
Maybe Cunningham, he's better than Braithwaite so would be his biggest test to date.middleman wrote:i dont think there is a crusier over there that would fight him, let alone beat himAutobarn wrote:Will be interesting if they use an international feed. If so, Enzo's name will not even be mentioned - that's how highly regarded he is in America.![]()
