Mormeck v Haye on Setanta

Post by Manc_Red »

Why the fcuk have we to view another fight without proper 4:3 viewing!!??

There leaving widescreen on when in studio this is fine but there failing to switch to 4:3 when the feed from France go's back on the air

Very frusrated now at this stage....

Do they not know themselves??

no sky is fine here, when a US bout is on sky's output is in 4:3 and thats even when there in the studio. Presenter on sky always says that this presentation is only in 4:3 and its beyond there control but setanta are keeping the US feeds in 16:9 and this is were the problem is.

Think sky boxes can ammend this with setanta

As far as I can tell the difference comes with European/American picture settings. Outside Europe they don't seem to shoot widescreen, I figured the Haye fight would be ok, but obviously taking the US feed it was f*cked.

I don't understand why Setanta shrinks the screen in on 4:3, no other channel does it. And even more bizarre to me is that they didn't used to do it, Hatton-Castillo was fine in 4:3 full screen. Since then we've had black sides and a shrunk picture. It's annoying.

it's not setanta's fault. Setanta got the fight from the american channel (didn't have their own feed from there) and it's the way the americans shoot it. it will have been the 4:3 on any channel, not just setanta. thats why when SKY show HBO fights it's in 4:3 and not 16:9

When Sky show 4:3 from the same US company the same problem is sorted!!!

No lines on either side of the output!!!! You obviously are not reading m8

My picture with Setanta is still distorted on 4:3, if it's not widescreen I have to watch it with a full border around the screen to get a normal picture ratio.

Just be grateful that they are putting on good fights and you can watch them.

Too many old women about moaning about presentation etc.

Just enjoy the boxing. Those who know its a good fight should be able to enjoy just that. The studio bit is more for the general sports fan so I can take it or leave it.
