Tonight, on ESPN Classic TV ("Big Fights Boxing Hour), while showing this bout, they repeatedly mention that it occurred Sept. 29, 1967 at Shea Stadium. It's Sept. 19 here:

I changed the date but I dont know if the other fights we have for NY on that date belong with the Griffith fight. Maybe another editor could look into that?

The 1986-1987 RRB confirmed the 9-29 date.
