He'd need time to figure out Fenech but once he'd solved the puzzle (as he always did) there is only one winner.

Sanchez would take him apart w/o a doubt.

Sanchez would beat the shit out of Fenech until he stopped him late. It would be a merciless beating, an exibition of Sanchez's counter punching and distance boxing. Fenech doesn't belong in the ring with him.

OK aftr having a look at Sanchez record I have trouble believing he could stop Fenech. The Azumah that he beat was very young and inexperienced.
At Feather which was Jeffs best weight I think he has a superior record against better fighters.
I think the poster whos said that Fench didn't deserve to be in the same ring may be involved in just a touch of hero worship.

I agree that Fenech deserved the first Nelson fight, but what about the rematch!

Look, mate, there's nothing sadder than a man whose slighted feelings of nationalism make him open his mouth & look like a twat, so I'm not going to take the piss.

But in terms of ATG'ness, Fenech's best win at 126lbs was MARCOS VILLASANA.

Sanchez stopped Danny Lopez, Azumah Nelson, an unbeaten, undamaged, young & brand-new Wilfredo Gomez: he outpointed top operators like Cowdell, LaPorte & Castillo. He did not hide in SE Asia beating up ex-kickboxers who couldn't throw a straight punch. His resumé -- excepting the cynical division jumping -- reads better than Fenech's, & HE DIED AT TWENTY-THREE YEARS OLD.

Also, I have seen both fight (obviously unlike yourself). Therefore I know that Sanchez was at his absolute best against come-forward, high-punch volume sluggers: he had a shit-hot defence, literally could not be hurt & broke the heart of very hard men by simply not tiring, ever: then after they'd missed 43,566 wild swings, he'd beat the shit out of them.

Which is kind of what would happen against Fenech. It would've been a truly great fight: but it would've fricking retired Fenech. He'd make even less sense than he does now.

I am not a Fenech lover I think that chasing bullshit titles in 4 weight divisions does not neccessarily make for a more accomplished career. Better to dominate one division than to win a portion of four titles in different weight deivisions. Never the less you said that fenech doesn't belong in the same ring at feather, thats where I take a different opinion.

They were very similar in size, but fenech may have had the edge in workrate and strength, but it may not have been a factor, as Sanchez was the best counter puncher I have ever seen, and I would give him the edge in power.

I actually see this as a bit like Mayweather v Hatton, but with Sanchez finding the range earlier due to Jeff being more orthordox than Hatton, with Less holding.

After 7 rounds I can see Sanchez scoring with right hand lead counters and stopping a brave Jeff on his feet in 10.

Sanchez was always on his toes, for 15 rounds, but got power on every shot. Amazing boxer RIP.
