I'm writing a film review and need an example for a metaphor.. I'm looking for an example of some kind of prominent 'moral' champion, some well known old sage who is known for judging people, is at the forefront of ethical debates and a 'force for good', etc
A weird one I know but any of you gents got any examples for me? thanks in advance!

Still alive, Jonathan Sacks, the Chief Rabbi. I'm not Jewish, but he has always impressed me with his wisdom and thought.
Historically, William Wilberforce wasn't a bad one, but I'd go for Lord Denning - arguably the greatest judge of the last century.
