I believe Cheka was the guy Brian Magee was going to face on the McCullough vs Martinez undercard, so he should be in decent shape.

Robert Stieglitz is the notable name on his record - maybe Chris "Real Deal" Royle has a tape of that fight???

Sounds like a better fight than the rest of the undercard so if that pans out we should get to see it on ITV particularly with the contender fuss. Still sad state when a marking time fight. Anyone seen this fellow fight?

Smith has now had 21 fights & is yet to move up in class, Cheka will not be a real test for him, is this the current state of British boxing that you have to have 30 plus fights to 'learn the trade' before you step up in class??
Cheka has had 13 wins 3 losses .......... says it all really

Fair enough, but considering after 22 fights he will be fighting for an 'English title' compared with other fighters of similar records who are world title holders!!

Continually putting up & coming fighters on undercards against 'journeymen' who are earning a wage is doing British boxing no favours. I appreciate that there is an element of ring experienced needed, but what is wrong with putting two young prospects with similar records in against each other early on in there careers??

A 10-0 fighter should fight a 10-0 fighter .... one will progress & the other will have to improve. Too much emphasis is made in proecting '0' records of young fighters. There is nothing wrong with losing, some of the best fighetrs on the planet & in history have lost fights & come back stronger & better.

Plus there are world champions out there who have similar number of fights to smith

There are also lots of fighters who were pushed to quick and though successful never fulfilled their potential.

David Reid, Ryan Rhodes, Michael Bennett, John Duddy (oops, cant put that in til Monday.)

Says it all really? You and I have a different opinion on this. I think there is a LOT wrong with losing.
Floyd Mayweather, Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe, Kelly Pavlik, Juan Diaz, Chris John, Miguel Cotto, Arthur Abraham and a good few other world champions are undefeated.... They will agree with my point.

No rush with me. There's not many world champions at 25 - Kelly Pavlik excluded that I know of, who has been a pro almost 8 years.

Not that I need to explain myself to you, I just think your little personal itch with me is pretty unfair because your points aren't that valid. If you don't like me just be honest like your very first post on boxrec and say:

I don't think there is necessarily anything wrong with losing you 0 but increasingly the media think there is which is daft really cos it encourages fighters to avoid more challenging fights. Haye proved its possible to take an early loss, however conversely Harrison was ruined by it.

Most fighters who have had 21 fights and are world champions have been top ammeters, whats you ammeter record like Paul?

You have to test yourself as a professional, the fights you take are not a test, maybe due to a management who want to protect you????

Name one opponent you have faced that has some credibility?? .... and don't give me any of that WWE contender shit!!!!

If you are prepared to take the easy option throughout your career then that is up to you, but i feel as a professional you have a duty to test yourself
