Dont lose your bottle now Joe!!

Post by thepocketrocket »

Just had a very excited Spud on the phone, he had this to say!!

" Clinton Woods is very suprised to hear that Joe Calzaghe is looking for opponents to make another defence of his Super-Middleweight crown. Clinton has been informed that a date and a purse has been agreed for March for Joe to fight the best Light Heavy in the world".

"Clinton is even more suprised to hear that one of the suggested opponents is Winky Wright, a man who barely won a round against Bernard Hopkins"

Does anyone else agree that Joe-Clinton is a cracking fight for both guys?????

Why would Clinton be informed about Joe's intentions to fight Chad Dawson?

chad dawson is unimpressive. hopkins is old and would be outworked. jones is a fossil. woods would be run over. There is no exciting or interesting fight for Calzaghe out there. it says a lot for that dire division that the best fight for him may even be Erdei.

In fact, Chad dawson is very impressive. And his mandatory contender Adrian Diaconu looks a powerful slugger.

Dawson might be impressive but shouldn't be touted as a Calzaghe opponent. He is no more proven than Lacy was so I doubt Joe would get the recognition he deserved from the masses if he beat him.

Don;t agree. Froch would get KO'd very quickly and very easily. Over rated fighted IMO.

Would much rather see Calzaghe -V- Hopkins.

Dawson's a superb talent and holds a very good win over Tomasz Adamek.

But he's not, and probably never will be, a big name.

Whilst I thank Pocket for posting the above up the quotes are from CLINTON WOODS and not me!!! - so whilst Pocket was scribbling his notes which I am grateful for I was saying and "Clinton said this" so and so on - Clinton is very clear concerning his opinions and thoughts concerning Joe Calzaghe.

And whilst we are are here - Clinton is the No1 Light Heavyweight in the world  :box:

Come on Joe - You want to fight at Light Heavyweight - why not take your chance if you think it will be an easy nights work!!!

Clinton is so in awe of Joe, has he the self belief, he can beat him? - Its a fight I would like to see and think should happen - Then Hopkins in America, and retire.
