Just watched the Hatton v Mayweather fight, but before I start mouthing off I would like to say Hatton gave a great show but was outclassed by a much better fighter on the night. After round 7 greatness showed and Mayweather showed why he is a great champion.
Hatton not only fought Mayweather but he also had a fight on his hands with the ref, I quite like Cortez, i have always thought he was a decent ref and very fair, but from th outset he never let Hatton fight on the inside. As soon as they got close he tried to stop the fight, if you watch they do not clinch for a full second before he shouts dtop to split them up. Wether the outcome would have been different i do not know, i doubt it but boxing is not about fighting on the outside all the time. yes it suits boxers as does in fighting. Mayweather is not an inside boxer but Hatton is so the ref should bare that in mind when reffing a fight.
the 1 point deduction was not correct either Hatton did not hit Mayweather, the shot hit the ropes.
Mayweather was ducking below waiste range that is illegal but nothing from the ref.
Mayweather was a worthy winner, no doubt about it, Hatton did well but was beaten by a better boxer along with his side kick, Joe Cortez.
