That accidental butt rule

Over on the current scene the British rule of LTKO when receiving an accidental butt came up.

I remember when Herbie lost to that lithanian guy on this ruling, are there any high profile cases of this and why do we have such a retarded rule?

Its a ridiculous rule. How can the BBBC not change a rule that is so obviously wrong for the sport. Why are people getting rewarded for headbutting?

Pros and cons for the rule:
Cons: A fighter can be way behind on the scorecards with no chance of winning the contest, then he could headbutt his opponent and win the fight therefore giving morally the wrong winner.

Pros: Well in the occasion of ....errrr no wait. THERE ARE NONE imo

I remember Will Carling having an outburst a decade or so ago saying that Rugby was run by 'a bunch of old farts' who were scared to update/progress the game. The BBBC remind me of 'a bunch of old farts'.

Come on BBBC! In the name of common sense pease update the rule

The only argument I've heard in its favour is to stop cut boxers who are ahead on points from pulling out to get a tech dec (e.g Chavez-Randall II). I kind of agree with this, but the alternative we do have is much worse.

Yeah fair comment, but as you say the Cons outweigh the Pros for the rule
