Got hatton dvd for Xmas

Got a hatton dvd for my xmas from my sister its 13 fights leading up to kosta fight. just gpot me thinking how much has ricky changed in last few years dont you think? wathcing these fights hes jabbing in, bobbing and waeving inn going to body, great combinations, or is it just because its harder against the better opposition??

For me it is a mixture of both; he is facing better opponents and age/lifestyle is creeping up on him.

The signs were there with his performances against Collazo and Urango and I remember there was massive debates on here after those fights about Hatton being 'past it' as well as Barry Mcguigan saying he had a limited number of fights left in him.

Then the Castillo fight happened and clouded over everybodys judgement as it only went four rounds and stamina never got the chance to really test Ricky, he then slowed down a lot in the Mayweather fight after the first few rounds, yes it was at a higher weight but there are signs that his legs are going away from him much easier these days. The only thing I agree on with Warren is that he should have taken his recent fight after the Kostya Tszyu fight because in all seriousness and with much respect to Ricky and the fact he has just fought the best of the best, he will struggle badly with Paulie and Witter nowadays in my opinion.

It must be on Youtube, I would think - Yes most of us were a bit out of it by the time the fight came on - I watched it again with a clear head on Sky a few days later and was able to make a far better assesment - My final view was Ricky ran out of steam and idears and became very ragged knowing he was behind after the midway point.

I think we have seen the best of Ricky Hatton TBH - His legs are not what they were once, the bounce seems not to be there anymore - Against Mayweather is perhaps not the best way to judge Rickys current performance and I am looking more at his fights since Tsyzu - Over 40 fights, some of them very tough, and having to lose so much weight to make the limit has taken its toll - Age doesnt come into it at only 29, its the miles on the clock - There was a time when I would have backed Ricky against anyone at LW but now I am not quite so sure - He hasnt looked like the Ricky of old for quite a while - I think its a bit late in his career to come off a loss with even greater determination - Having said that against his old rival Witter in a fight he would have to win, sh1t or bust, I do believe he would lift his game - Thats one good reason why Witter should be next because I feel Witter is the only man who can motivate Ricky enough - Lose to Witter, then its game over and retire - Win, and Ricky will be back on top, which at the moment is a precarious position, until he can re establish himself at LW by beating the other threats - The decision about who to fight next is vital - We all said there would be no shame in losing to Mayweather and while thats true, the loss has changed the whole Hatton gameplan and caused a dilemma - Hatton needs a huge confidence builder and fighting someone with little chance wont do that, but beating Witter would - I think Ricky could possibly lose against Malinaggi, but if he beat Witter first, Malinaggi would stand no chance - Ricky needs to be 100% fit and 100% confident for his final fights and then he could maybe retire undefeated at LW - If he cant do that then maybe the January decision they have talked about should be retirement.
